Audit Log
Track configuration changes with detailed diffs, user attribution, and CSV export
What the Audit Log Tracks
The audit log records all configuration changes made through the app. Each entry captures who made the change, what changed (with detailed before/after diffs), and when.
Tracked Events
| Section | Events Tracked |
|---|---|
| Settings | Approval chain changes (L1: Director -> VP), environment additions/removals, team policy changes, delegation updates, dashboard access changes, workflow state updates |
| Freeze Windows | Created (with type, dates), updated (with specific field diffs), deleted |
| Templates | Created, updated, deleted |
| Reset | Settings reset with details of what was cleared/preserved |

CSV Export
Click Export CSV to download the full audit log as a CSV file. Use this for compliance archival, external reporting, or long-term record-keeping.
Retention
- Maximum 1500 entries or 300 KB, whichever is smaller
- Entries older than 90 days are automatically trimmed
- Export to CSV before entries age out if you need long-term records
Clearing the Audit Log
Only true Jira admins (not delegated) can clear the audit log. Go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Clear Audit Log. A confirmation popup requires typing "CLEAR" to proceed. The clear action itself is recorded as the last entry.
Critical action
Clearing the audit log is irreversible. All entries are permanently deleted and cannot be restored. Export to CSV first if you need the records.
